Recently Emma Boyde one of Tom and Shirley Boydes daughters agreed to edit/review parts of the book in her spare time. Her day job is a commissioning editor at the Financial Times and getting assistance from a highly experienced professional has resulted in a significant improvement in the books content. Emma rowed herself competively and won a number of competitions and thus has her own section in the chapter describing our families rowing exploits. Her brother Nicholas has written extremely interesting recollections of his grandfather Sid Radley and of his mothers rowing career and his own experiences learning to row and in regattas. He has also contributed a necesary section on explaining boat and rowing jargon. Finally their father Tom Boyde has written about Shirley’s time as an England international oarswomen.
Shirleys sister June Cann has also made a major contribution with her memories of her father Sid Radleys boat building career and her own distinguished rowing exploits.
